Ambassador hands over a donation to the Islamic Center in Japan: The Center’s Acting President commends the Kuwaiti support

H.E. Abdulrahman Humood AL-OTAIBI, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Japan, handed over a donation offered by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Kuwait to the Islamic Center in Japan represented by its Acting President Dr. Musa Mohammad Omar to rebuild the center’s old building in Tokyo. The donation amounted to 12,235,000 yen.

H.E. Ambassador AL-OTAIBI praised the Islamic Centre in Japan and its mission in introducing Islam to the Japanese society through guidance and education. His Excellency commended the achievements of the Islamic Center in Japan since its inception and thanks to it thousands of Japanese have converted to Islam.

H.E. surveyed with Dr. Omar the status of Islam in Japan and the needs and challenges faced by the Islamic institutions, they also discussed ways of cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the Islamic Center.

The Ambassador reiterated the willingness of the Government of the State of Kuwait to provide all necessary assistance to support Islamic institutions in Japan and around the world.

Dr. Musa Omar expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the State of Kuwait for its generous support for the reconstruction of Center’s building which would facilitate the work of the center.

He also commended the efforts and support of the Government and people of the State of Kuwait who were the first to support the center since its inception in the early seventies, which was founded by a number of Arab and Kuwaiti students studying in Japan during that period.
